Every memorable listening space begins with possibility: the music, the feeling and the scale of the experience you want to create. These five brand stories offer distinct ways to bring that vision to life.

Focal / Naim
Focal began in Saint-Étienne in 1979, in a precision-engineering workshop founded by engineer Jacques Mahul. The company’s history in loudspeaker design now spans home Hi-Fi, studio monitoring, cinema and architectural audio. Naim’s story began with Julian Vereker trying to make playback better reflect the live music he recorded; Naim Audio was incorporated in 1973.
Focal’s W composite cones and M-profile driver designs show how the company works with diaphragm materials and geometry to manage lightness, rigidity, damping and dispersion. Naim brings a complementary tradition in amplification, sources and music systems. The brands came together in 2011, creating a natural path to consider them as a system while choosing products around the listener, not a predetermined stack.
Let familiar vocals, acoustic recordings and dynamic music fill the room. The right Focal and Naim combination should make every invitation to listen feel like an occasion.

PMC
Founded in 1991 by Peter Thomas of the BBC and Adrian Loader, PMC’s first product was the active BB5-A main studio monitor. The BB5 design grew from a BBC Maida Vale brief for a full-range speaker that could handle high sound levels for live-music recording. Today, PMC monitors are used across recording, mixing, post-production, mastering and broadcast.
The engineering bridge is ATL (Advanced Transmission Line). A long, damped path absorbs unwanted midrange and treble energy from the rear of the bass driver, while allowing the lowest frequencies to emerge in phase with its front output. For a music lover’s room, that means a path to deep, controlled bass and a revealing, balanced presentation shaped by tools used to make and judge recordings.
Imagine hearing the full weight and texture of a live performance at home, with the scale, room and system shaped around the music that matters most.

Vienna Acoustics
Vienna Acoustics describes its work through the idea of Viennese arts and crafts: loudspeaker design as engineering joined with material choice and cabinet making. Its portfolio ranges from compact stand-mounts to substantial floorstanding systems, giving us several scales to consider for the room.
The company’s patented Flat-Spider-Cone appears in selected designs, with a flat surface intended to support precise, piston-like motion. Some current implementations combine it with a Composite Cone construction. Those choices give us something concrete to learn about, while the audition tells us how the speaker handles voice, piano, image focus and bass in this particular space.
Hear how voice, piano and strings bloom in the room; decide whether Vienna Acoustics’ musical naturalness makes you want to play one more record.
LOUDSPEAKERS · DISCOVERY ASSOCIATES
Morel
Meir Mordechai founded Morel in 1975 to pursue a loudspeaker that could capture the natural magic of music. The company’s story is rooted in transducer design and engineering, with home-audio products alongside its broader driver and integration work. Morel is represented through Discovery Associates in our portfolio.
Morel’s External Voice Coil motor technology is a longstanding part of that engineering identity. Morel describes its larger voice-coil approach in terms of heat management, power handling and linearity, alongside in-house design and manufacturing. Its current home-audio catalog includes passive Sopran and Avyra speakers as well as wireless Avyra options, so there is more than one kind of system to discuss.
The audition is the heart of the decision: let familiar music reveal whether Morel’s natural, effortless presentation brings you closer to it, and whether the space calls for traditional separates or a simpler wireless system.
LOUDSPEAKERS · SOURCES & ELECTRONICS
Technics
Technics is a full Hi-Fi brand, not just a turntable and electronics name. The company’s first product was a bookshelf loudspeaker in 1965, and its current US catalog includes the SB-C600 bookshelf speaker and SB-G90M2 floorstander alongside turntables, digital sources and amplification.
The SB-C600 and SB-G90M2 use coaxial driver designs built around Technics’ point-source and linear-phase goals, with cabinet and mounting structures engineered to control unwanted vibration. The bookshelf and floorstanding models offer two different room scales for a direct audition against Focal, PMC, Vienna Acoustics and Morel.
From the tactile ritual of vinyl to a clean digital stream, Technics can create a coherent Hi-Fi experience around how you want to encounter music—with speakers, sources and amplification selected as one system.
On our call, let’s talk about the music that moves them, the experience they dream of, and how the room can bring it to life. Then we can choose the direction worth hearing.
